Gravity and Time

Previously we considered that Time, Distance and Speed are not a smooth flowing congruent material that can be infinitely parsed into smaller and smaller pieces but indeed have smallest units which cannot be divided.

Time and Mass effect on Time is most intriguing.

When one considers time. It is hard to give a definition to time ,but to simply say it is that which separates individual frames of reality or perhaps more accurately energy states much as an old film reel has different frames which click past the aperture. One might say hogwash! I don’t even think time exists. But we can measure it so surely it is real. We also know for a fact that it can be affected by outside forces.

In the 60s highly accurate timepieces were placed aboard satellites and orbited about the earth at ‘fast’ speeds. The timepieces showed time had infact slowed in relation to ‘stationary’ timepieces on earth. Movies were made where men ventured into space and achieved light speed. When they returned to earth after what was one to two years to them ,a millennium had passed on the surface.

It is a fact to state that time slows down with increasing velocities.

Another fact is that time slows down near a gravity source or mass. It is quite certain that time moves more slowly at the surface of the earth than at 20,000 miles in space. In fact the GPS satellites we all rely on so heavily in our everyday life,  orbit approximately 23k miles in space in a geosynchronous orbit. If one took the speed of light as a constant over this distance, an accuracy beyond about 100 yards could not be achieved as distance travelled by the radio signal (speed of light) will not equal the time past on the surface.

It is a fact to state that time slows down with increasing gravity effect.

So one of the key properties of any mass is it’s effect on the surrounding environ and the flow of time in that environ. This explains a quandary that many of us have growing up. How often we lift a weight and it falls back to earth by an invisible hand. We wonder how can the earth pull the rock with no connection. The truth is the earth is not pulling the rock at all. What is occurring is the part of the rock nearest the earth has time moving slightly more slowly that the part of the rock away from the earth. So there is a time gradient across the rock which forces the rock toward the slower time region which is down. So gravity doesn’t pull at all. The rock is pushed by the time gradient.

Think how this could be useful. If we could create a mass effect on time without the mass we could effortlessly move object about with little energy.

For instance, what if, we found that a mass effect could be created at the bisection of two beams of elementary particles.Say neutrinos and anti-neutrinos. If we could control where this intersection occurred and it’s intensity, We could create a time graddient. Consider this simple drawing of a cart from the top.

Let’s pretend we have a cart with two different types of beams mounted on it. Simply labelled beam 1 and beam 2. If we directed these beams forward and medial, at the intersection a mass-time effect is created so in effect it would be as though a large mass was in front of the cart. The cart would move down the time gradient towards the intersection ,much as a dog with a bone dangled in front of it. Now if we pointed the beams upward, the cart could hover above the ground. Floating effortlessly. We need to learn precisely how ‘Mass’ Effect the flow of time and learn to simulate it. It would be a greater achievement than the wheel.

My Body

Today I was watching a demonstration of young people challenging the new president elect, Donald Trump.

One of the young ladies asked, “Will I be paid the same as a man?” and “Will the government be telling me what I can do with my body?”

He retorted “If you work as hard as a man, you will be paid the same by law.”

A good response I thought ,but he ignored the more challenging question.

I thought about the quandary, and wondered ‘My Body’. If an artist paints a picture, does the picture own itself? If an engineer designs and has a plane built, does the plane now own itself? Obviously I am intimating that an infinite intelligence created the universe and all in it,and he is in fact the owner of that young girls body. She certainly did not create or design it ,it is difficult to see how it is hers. Even an atheist might accept that she did nothing to fabricate or purchase the body and in fact it is the property of evolutionary forces. As she was not given an evolutionary power to spontaneously abort a baby much as I can clear my eyes by blinking. How is it a ‘right’ to terminate a pregnancy she allowed to occur with unnatural abortive techniques.

Just as it is not a widely accepted right to terminate one’s own life it should not be a right to terminate anothers.

 

 

First blog post

Today I thought it might help me to organize some thoughts by entering them here. With the everyday stresses consuming or thoughts and time, we have little time to consider what our own thoughts are. Many of these will be random and unrelated. To those who don’t know me. I am college educated with a Biology background and a strong curiosity in Physics and Life processes. I am married once to my childhood sweetheart and have 4 children anyone would be proud to claim.  My heroes are my Parents, Teachers, Newton and countless people who paved the way to my current easy life. My greatest fear is a failure to do what’s needed.

DISTANCE    11/5/2016

Since high-school physics the concept of Distance has been troubling particularly in regard to waves such as sound, light, heat etc. For instance, the amplitude or intensity of a wave  decreases by the square of the distance or a factor of 4 as the distance from the source is doubled. Or another way is that the intensity of the wave or sound increases by a factor of 4 every time the distance is halved.

distance graph.pngif you are standing 4 units from a speaker the decibel loudness is 64 and at a distance of 8 it is 16 decibels. Likewise at a distance of 2 the loudness is 256 decibels. Seems reasonable, however, if we continue to get closer and closer to the source. And continue to cut our distance in half. At ‘infinity’ we reach the ‘source’ or surface of the speaker. At that point the loudness is infinitely loud. So no matter how soft a noise the speaker makes, at the source it will be infinitely loud. So all sounds, light, heat, waves ; if distance can always be cut in half, will be infinite at the Surface of the speaker….. So if distance can always be cut in half all noise,light,heat,waves would be infinitely great when made.

The only answer is that there is a smallest unit of distance. There is a distance which you cannot go beyond in smallness. So when a light bulb emits a light or a speaker makes a sound. The intensity of the sound varies at the first unit of measure and not the surface of the source. So in a sense then the world is not Analog but digital in its origin. Everything you see or touch or experience is digital or in correct parlance Quantum.

Accepting that a distance is the number of minimal units m.u. (the smallest measurable unit == m.u.) then movement of an object is not a smooth flowing event but more like a chain turning a gear with a clunk clunk clunk nature as the object ‘jumps’ the minimal units per unit of time. Lets consider movement.

MOVEMENT

When we look at a photograph, we interpret blurring as movement of the object. A camera with an older lens might have a frame rate of 1/32 of a second and a baseball or humming bird wing would appear as a smudge.

or If we improved the quality of the aperture and lens and kept reducing the time eventually the frame would appear ‘still’ with no blurring or motion artifact.

In fact I believe time also has a smallest unit which cannot be further divided. The flow of time is also like running a stick on a row of fence posts. At the smallest unit of time all object are frozen in space with no movement.  That is why an electron inhabits certain orbitals coinciding with energy levels. The electron never is seen between these defined levels. Simply at time A it is in orbital 1 ,and at time B (after stimulation) it is in orbital 2. Never in between. The answer is it never is in between. The movement of any object is its disappearance from the first location and its reappearance in the new location after a quantum of time.

So when one throws a baseball, the ball advances a certain number of minimal distance units per minimal time unit according to the force or speed of the ball. How does the ball ‘remember’ to move when the next unit of time comes along ,if all objects are frozen in time. ?  The answer is that the mass of the moving object increases when a force is applied to it, so relative to the unmoving object the mass is out of phase with the still object and advances to bring its mass back into the appropriate ‘size’. Einstein once conceptualized that any object approaching the speed of light, its mass would approach infinity. this concept becomes significant at about 1/2 the speed of light which is probably the maximum speed obtainable by a solid object.

So when a baseball is thrown, its mass or size increases relative to when it was still and it moves to reestablish is relationship with the surrounding still environment.

The concept of direction, how does the ball know which direction to move, is also from a distortion of the mass in the moving object. The moving ball is more massive at the rear then at the front forcing the ball to move forward. This also explains Gravity’s effect on Time and movement to be examined later.
