As a 63 year old life long United States citizen, I am trying to understand how an evenly split population can so vehemently disagree with each other on National Policy. Excluding the abortion debate, how can similar peoples hate each other so strongly. I have a theory. Here goes. There are two philosophies.

One philosophy is that America is composed of its Founding documents and Institutions. The current population can be sacrificed, even to death, as long as ‘America’ survives and provides the structure for future generations of Americans the opportunities to pursue liberty.

The second philosophy believes the entire current population should be the beneficiaries of living in America even if the core Documents need to be changed and the country bankrupted. It is most important that the current inhabitants live comfortably even if ‘America’ is changed and perverted.

I believe this is the fundamental reason Peoples of similar backgrounds can so heatedly disagree.
